WHO WE ARE
While we firmly believe that degrees and official resumes do not define us, we understand that it matters when choosing the best school/teacher for your child. So here goes...

Ms. Alexis

It's 2010 and I’m working in a successful career in Business- happily climbing the corporate ladder. I ended up in a Child Development 101 course. Something about being pregnant and learning the science behind pregnancy and early childhood education just CLICKED! Community College wouldn’t allow me to take anymore classes since I already had a BA. So, I enrolled in a Master’s Degree program. My baby was only 6 weeks old! I worked full time, went to school full time, and exclusively breastfed full time. Needless to say, that time was a blur! Fast forward 2 years, graduation is the same MONTH that my current job closes its doors. I tried, unsuccessfully, to find a new job in that industry for months. I was afraid of the pay cut that I thought I’d take in education.
*BUT GOD!*
I was able to transition into the field of education. Over the next few years, I began climbing a different corporate ladder as the Director of a preschool program. My mentor, a 50 year Montessori vet, offers me a job as her school’s director. Only caveat, I must go back to school and get Montessori trained. NO BRAINER! This was my dream job for several years until she sold the school. I stayed on for a few more years but knew my time was coming to an end. I began working on my vision for CLIC. Found my location, got licensed, and purchased materials. Then fear crept in again. This time, I was too afraid to leave my co-workers and the families that I had formed such deep bonds with.
*INSERT THE PANDEMIC*
March 17, 2020 BREAKING NEWS flashes across my TV screen- CA Schools are unlikely to reopen before summer. “But what about the parents who still have to work?” I thought to myself. But I already knew the answer.
*CLIC is the answer*

Mrs. Diana
Hi. My name is Ms. Diana. I’ve worked in the Child Care industry since 2003! Born and raised in Compton, CA, I am the 2nd born of 4 children. Although not the oldest, I was quickly thrust into a mothering role in my family. I helped take care of my younger brother and sister as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. In 2003, I became a teen mother to my eldest child. Determined to give my daughter the best education possible, I set on a quest to homeschool her. Word quickly spread throughout my family and friend circle, and the demand for my services quickly grew. I would become a home provider for various members of the community for the next 5 years. After my first group of students set off to Kindergarten, I decided to expand my caregiving skills to the elderly community. I loved the conversation and camaraderie in the Adult Care industry but always missed the little ones. After a few years, I returned to my first love of caring for children. During the pandemic, my skills had to increase because I cared for not only my own family, but also a family of 3 children (which included virtual learning for the older ones). Then I found CLIC! Working at CLIC has been an overall different experience but nevertheless a more fulfilling one. To be able to work doing what you love is a blessing. I know for a fact that one of my purposes in life is to be a caregiver and child provider

Ms. Victoria
Hi!!! I’m Ms. Victoria! I was born and raised in a small town in West Virginia and now living in Hacienda Heights! I’ve always enjoyed working with children and have done so for many years. I’ve nannied and babysat most of my life! Two of my favorite kids are my two nephews, I love being their Titi. In my free time, I like to play video games, read books, and go to Disneyland. I’m so happy to have met Mrs. Alexis and have her give me the opportunity to be a part of CLIC! It takes a village and I’m happy to be a part of this one!
